Summer is a fabulous season full of amazing things however makeup that melts by mid day is definitely not one of them. Read on for my best tips for keeping makeup looking fresh and pretty during hot summer days.
1. Oil free moisturizer and Primer
Choose an oil free moisturizer with spf and invest in a primer. Your skin care routine is as important, if not more important, as the makeup that you will apply.
Invest in a good primer, this product will help to hold the makeup in place. It only takes a few seconds to apply and it goes after the moisturizer and before foundation.

2. BB or CC creams
BB and CC creams are skincare/makeup hybrids that even out, color correct skin tone and have a few skin care benefits added to their formula. This products deliver a sheer to medium coverage. Keep things light, less is definitely more during summer. Layers of foundation , concealer and powder are definitely not season appropriate.

3. Oil absorbing blotting sheets
Also know as blotting papers, these little gems instantly soak up excess oil and remove shine from your face without removing makeup and leaving a heavy powdered look. The super lightweight and small packages make it so easy to carry with you for shine control all day.
Powdering your nose to control shine will lead to a pore clogging mess so instead just blot!

4. Liquid eyeshadows
This is the ultimate life saver for that effortless summer makeup look. Oh how I love these products! They are the multitaskers of the makeup world as they can be used as blush or lipstick. They are great for summer due to their lightweight and sheer texture. Love the bright color ones, since they are sheer, there’s no risk of looking garish.

6. Gel Bronzers
During summer the last thing you want is to cover your face with lots of powders. The gel bronzers look very natural and soft . They can be applied with your finger tips or a synthetic brush. Fake your tan the right way!
